happy father's day, weekend!!!

Jeremy & I were fortunate enough to spend the entire day with our fathers. Everyone came to our house for Father’s Day so we had a house full of company & it was WONDERFUL! I have always been a daddy’s girl. I nearly lost him a few years ago so I cherish every moment that I have with him. I love that my kids get to play with him and snuggle in his lap.

I give my love, and gratitude to all the wonderful father's in the world, and to those who have already passed on...and, to the father of my children...

We know we are spoiled rotten because we have the Best Daddy in the whole wide world! These kids WORSHIP their daddy. We love you Jeremy…. Happy Fathers Day!

Adrianna wanted to make her daddy and grandfathers homemade gifts this year so we borrowed Shanna’s idea  HERE to make these Adorable coasters. All you really need is bathroom tiles, scrapbook paper, Modge Podge and photos!

Me trying to be crafty Part II

As promised, I am posting about my other treasure from the Goodwill store. I found this picture for $4

I have seen a million chalkboard projects in blog world.
I thought this can't be too hard - let me attempt to make one for Adrianna. I bought the chalk board spray paint from Hobby Lobby & have been on the lookout for the perfect frame for months - when I spotted this frame, I knew it was the one

{it was so cheap even if it was an epic fail
I wouldn't be out too much money!}

I took out the cardboard bird picture and spray painted it with the chalk board paint {luckily there wasn't any glass} & painted the frame blue. The hardest part was waiting for the paint to dry. Once it was all dry, I put it back together.

I was happy with the way it turned out & Adrianna LOVES it! She has been playing school with Andrew all weekend ;)

Me trying to be crafty

I have to show you my latest project... I’m excited because after about 5 trips to the Goodwill store, I finally
found not only one treasure but two
 {I usually browse the store and just see junk}

This tray was only $1

The hideous green paint was peeling off & there were several scratches but the black spray paint covered it all up. I have been dying to use my Mod Podge {crazy I know but it's the small things in life!} I waited patiently and when the paint dried, I mod podged some scrapbook paper inside the tray to give it some color.

I think it’s adorable!! Now, I have a place to put my
 keys, badge & sunglasses.
I’m working on my other treasure now and will post it later ;)

IT’S OFFICALLY SUMMER!

I hope everyone had a FUN Memorial Day! Jeremy had to work Saturday and Sunday so the kids & I decided to stay close to home and be LAZY. It was wonderful!

I finished my rocking chair project finally! {My Alphabet art… that’s another story} My dad bought this chair from a garage sale. At one time, it was red but the paint faded. It looked so nasty but Andrew spotted it & dragged it in the house. He loves it so I decided to give it some TLC and I am glad I did because it turned out beautiful! It’s amazing what sand paper & stain can do!

Adrianna had a couple of her friends stay the night on Saturday. I took them to Lake Dardanelle. They had a blast swimming. Andrew didn't like the sand on his feet or the water so he sat on a beach towel the whole time & played with his shovel and bucket.

We had this for dinner:

It is a great summer meal. Just add some crusty french bread, grab yourself a glass of wine and you're ready to sit down to a fabulous summer dinner on your deck.

5 quarts water
1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
4 lbs. small red potatoes
2 lbs. kielbasa sausage, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
6 ears of corn, halved
4 lbs. unpeeled large fresh shrimp
Old Bay Seasoning
Cocktail Sauce
Bring 5 quarts water and 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning to a boil in a large covered stockpot.
Add potatoes; return to a boil, and cook, uncovered for 10 minutes.
Add sausage and corn, and return to a boil. Cook 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Add shrimp to stockpot; cook 3 to 4 miinutes or until shrimp turn pink. Drain. Serve with Old Bay seasoning and cocktail sauce.

For dessert we had this: Dirt Cups
