party planning

I am now in full party mode working on Andrew’s 5th Birthday party that is less than two weeks away. I have decided to have a very small intimate party for him with just our family. I love throwing huge parties but really wanted this year to focus in on Andrew & his special day. I get so wrapped up in running around, decorating, serving food, ensuring my guests are happy, refilling, you name it... that I don't get to just relax & "BE" with him.

Life isn't always about a party even though I love celebrating & decorating anything I can get my hands on. I will still do something cute for him, but won't have any kind of stress that special day. I want it to be all about him. He will start school in August and when that happens he will expect big parties with all his friends so this year will be with family.

I planned on having his party the first weekend of December because I don't decorate for Christmas until after his birthday party. It just didn't work out... Does anyone else have a December Baby? Do you wait until after their birthday to decorate for Christmas?

A HAPPY HEART

November is a time to be THANKFUL - a time to pause and give thanks for the many wonderful people in our lives. Often times, we tend to focus on material things cars, houses, status, etc. but this month we focus on what really matters...

I thank GOD everyday for the wonderful people in my life.
I could have all the material things in the world but they
would mean nothing to me without my family & friends.

MY LOVES

I know it's a crazy busy time of year
but I encourage you to just pause and
embrace your family. Love every minute of life!

XOXO

family time…

Last Friday, we packed up the 4 runner and hit the road to the Great Smoky Mountains. It was a Beautiful 10 hour drive and we couldn’t have chosen a better time. The foliage was breathtaking and the weather was perfect!

I can’t say this enough - one of the best parts of our trip was how much time we spent together as a family.

Lots of time in the car, lead to some funny conversations as well as serious ones... it was just good family bonding fun!

Since we were emerged in mountains & surrounded by beautiful nature, it was only fitting to play country music {which makes my family h-a-p-p-y!} because they love country music! We had the windows down, music
turned up loud and were all smiles

a good smoky mountain road-trippin' country tune: Smoky Mountain Rain hope you enjoy!

Is there anything more fallish than
Gatlinburg, Tn? I think not.

cheers to a beautiful time of year!
