crystal bridges

This weekend, I took a road trip to Northwest Arkansas with Adrianna and Pam.  Spring is trying so hard to get here, but it’s still inconsistent.  Sunny and beautiful one day and misty and cold the next, the one thing about Arkansas, it’s hard to predict the weather... despite the bad weather, we still managed to have a good time.

We spent Saturday at Crystal Bridges and it was AMAZING!
I am stunned that I haven't already visited this place - I had no idea it
was this incredible, it reminded me of my trip  HERE

Pam planned this trip because she loves Norman Rockwell and his collection is temporary on exhibition. We have completely different taste so I wasn’t sure that I would like his work, but surprisingly I do! My favorite paintings are “the stay at homes” and the portrait of John F. Kennedy I am so happy she introduced his work to me!

Afterwards, we had a yummy milky way latte♥

Cheers to road trips and girl time...
There is nothing better than traveling and seeing new things!

happy fourteen.

Adrianna is fourteen - the idea that I only get her at home for four more years just breaks my heart... I will definitely cherish our time together.

We started off her birthday with a family breakfast...

{tower of donuts}

Then... her friend's mom picked her up after school and made an unexpected stop by pile high dessert on the way home. Secretly, I had planned a surprise yogurt bash with her girlfriends, and some family friends —

my favorite moment, when she walked in the party room
and seen everyone. She had the biggest smile!

The bash included confetti and pink favor bags

My co-worker does graphic design work on the side
and created this custom invitation. He does amazing work!

This was my first time planning a surprise party.
I couldn't have done it without my little helper
Brittney {Adrianna's BFF} who I was in touch with via text messages, emails, and phone calls. Brittney delivered all the invitations and plotted to get Adrianna to the party.
She almost got caught once but managed
to keep the secret safe!

easter 2013.

was beautiful.

We attended the easter drama with our friends at First Assembly. We had a delicious family dinner at my sister's house. The easter bunny left baskets for the kids. Lots of sunshine. We watched the final episode of The Bible Series as a family...

we dyed easter eggs...

we had a confetti egg fight...

Cascarones are beautifully colored eggs filled with confetti and small
toys traditionally made in mexico to celebrate easter. Easter confetti eggs
are often broken over someone’s head as a symbol of good luck.
it seems Adrianna is going to be very lucky!

I hope everyone had a beautiful and blessed Easter
