Canstruction Challenge

I participated in the canstruction challenge at work - it's
such a fun and creative way to fight hunger.
Canstruction is building sculptures out of
canned goods.  Each team collects items
to build their sculpture. At the end of the event,
all of the proceeds are donated to local food banks.
This is a fun challenge you can do at work,
school or church!

Here are some of my favorites:

We collected 7,459 items for local charities in a
little over a week - AMAZING!

Sausalito

A wonderful quaint little community with a picturesque view of the city across the bay. I fell in love with this place.
If I ever get the opportunity to live here... I would not pass it up. However, I would need to make a lot of money because it's a very expensive place to live. The people here are friendly and laid back. None of the local
businesses open until 11ish. {yes, the sign said "ish"} I could live with that!

The week we visited was very foggy. I was a little
bummed but according to the locals, it stays foggy most of the time.

I walked a lot - snapping random pictures, trying
to capture all it's beauty!

The fog rolling into the city

Golden Gate Bridge
It was quite a hike to get here, under the bridge. I should have rented a bike like everyone else but I am too clumsy to ride a bike down those hills!  This was the highlight of the trip for me - seeing this beautiful landmark.

Muir Woods

Beautiful and exceeded our expectations.

We were emerged in the land of tall/huge trees, which my
husband- the forestor enjoyed. He was in his element. In fact, he could have spent days hiking through these woods.

Like larger than life trees, our epic California trip continues... however I have to finish editing pictures first.

San Francisco

I spent a week in beautiful California with my
favorite person in the whole world - Jeremy!!
It has ALWAYS been a dream of mine to
travel to California and I instantly fell in love with this place. It was amazingly beautiful! I will be going back, over the years and taking the children.

Jeremy made our trip extra special, he upgraded our rental to a red 2012 camaro so we could cruise around town and across the Golden Gate Bridge in style.
I was one happy girl & couldn't stop smiling!

The first day, I was on my own so I ventured
out and rode the ferry to San Francisco.
it still amazes me how cold it was, I was expecting warm temperatutes.  It was much colder than Arkansas.

I was able to capture these beautiful pictures of the city while riding the Ferry from Sausalito

Love this art work - Skygate by Roger Barr
San Francisco’s first piece of public art financed by a corporation

All the fruit in CA was delicious - I ate my first fig and it was yummy!

If you are ever in SF, then you must experience Fishermans Wharf. It's a fun, waterfront neighborhood with no shortage of sail boats, seagulls and fresh crab.

I stopped in Bistro Boudin to watch them bake sourdough bread - the heavenly smell of happiness drew me in the door! All this bread is baked daily.
Not only does it taste delicious, it looks beautiful! They make it into all different shapes and sizes - even different animals.

Lombard Street is the the crookedest {most winding}
street in the world. It was hard to find because you have to get off the main strip but after walking around for about 30 minutes and asking directions twice, I finally found it!

The Best Kind Of Fitness Goal

I was honored to be featured on Robin Dayer's Fitness Blog
I am happy to share that I have lot 27lbs and gone from a size 12 to a size 7!! The last time I was a size 7 was high school.  =)

I started this journey for many reasons----to lose weight prior to my big 30th birthday, to get healthy, to gain confidence, but most importantly to be an example for my daughter. I wanted to start living a healthy lifestyle, making fitness a priority in hopes that she would
follow my lead.

come over here and read about my journey.
I still struggle with eating clean - mostly on the weekends.
If you have any helpful advise or tips, please share!

Happy Friday!!

Glow N Dark skating

Summer was a whirlwind and we have jumped back into our fall schedules and routines. Jeremy & I are constantly on the move - taking the kids to school, flute lessons, football games, cheer practices, friend's houses etc.
It has been a challenage keeping track of everyone's daily activities. Adrianna started carpooling with Brittney this year which has been very helpful.
Not to mention it’s great for the environment!

Andrew is loving his new school and has
made lots of new friends. He was invited to 2 birthday parties this week and has another on Sunday! I love that my kids are active and wouldn't change it for anything but sometimes it is hard to keep up with them

One of the parties was at the local skating rink.
I was not looking forward to this party at all. I figured Andrew would cling to the wall and I would be nervous the entire time over the thought of him being hurt - I didn't realize my little boy could skate!!

As soon as, he had his skates on, he just rolled off!
I wish someone would have captured my facial expression
He even asked the lady to tighten his wheels!!
It's amazing what kids learn at daycamps.
