TRICK or TREAT!

Halloween came twice this year!  Saturday, we had a monster bash at the house. It was Spooktacular! I need to hire a photographer for my next party because I have no pictures… NONE! Dana I hope you took some for me. It was total chaos but the kids LOVED it!  Afterwards we all went trick or treating in Russellville. Andrew slept right through it… Which meant we had to go trick or treating again in Greenbrier with my sister & her kiddos. We had a blast & have enough candy to last us until next year!

 My Batgirl and Spiderman

Wow, this is a scary crew!
I love how Andew & Eli think they are just as big as the others! LOL

I love this list. LOVE IT. It is so simple and so GREAT! So here you go:

8 "Resolutions" Every Mom Should Make

1. I will embrace the fact that I am not perfect.

2. I will get down on the floor and play with my child(ren) every day.

3. I will take care of my body.

4. I will learn to love the chaos.

5. I will make family dinner a priority.

6. I will focus a little more on my marriage.

7. I will make time for my friends.

8. I will remind myself daily that time with my children is precious.

Dinner in a Pumpkin

my pictures don't quite look as good as how it tasted!

The kids & I LOVED it {Jeremy not so much!}
This was our first year trying it... and it was fun! The kids had a blast cleaning & decorating pumpkin.

Dinner in a pumpkin

1 medium pumpkin
1 chopped onion
2 pounds ground beef
4 Tbsp soy sauce
4 Tbsp brown sugar
2can cream of chicken soup
4cups cooked BROWN rice (or you can use white…I prefer brown since it’s healthier)
2 can sliced water chestnuts drained(optional)
2 can slice mushrooms(optional)

Cut off top of pumpkin and thoroughly clean out seeds and pulp. If desired draw a face on outside of pumpkin with permanent marker or acrylic paint. (This is a great thing to let kids help you with)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large skillet cook onions and hamburger until hamburger is cooked and onions are tender.
Drain drippings. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and soup.
Simmer 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Add cooked rice and water chestnut, and mushrooms.
Spoon mixture into cleaned out pumpkin shell.
Replace pumpkin top and place entire pumpkin with filling on a baking sheet.

Bake 1-2 hours (depending upon the size of the pumpkin) It will be done when the inside of pumpkin is tender. Put pumpkin on a plate. Remove pumpkin lid and serve meat and some of
the cooked pumpkin.

Flute Allergies???

I have been blogging about cheerleading & football games but I failed to mention Adrianna joined the Pottsville Band. She has band 1st period and she is playing the flute. {Her daddy is very proud} It took us forever to find a flute… we ended up having to order it off EBAY so she has only had it about 2 weeks. She practices every chance she gets & has already learned all her notes. She can play ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’ beautifully!

Unfortunately, for the past two weeks she has had a swollen lip!!! She came home from school and her bottom lip was huge… She told me that she got stung by something. I gave her Benadryl and after an hour on so it looked normal again. She usually practices at night so when she wakes up big lip again… She has the Angelina Jolie look LOL

Finally after two weeks, I told Jeremy that this cannot be a bug bite or it would be gone by now… It was like a light bulb went off for us both at the same time! She is allergic to Nickel & her flute is Nickel plated…Has anyone heard of this? It looks like my only option is to purchase a new headjoint made out of a different metal.
