Happy October

i love my home.
i love weekends when hibernation seems to be the theme, keeping us in the walls of our home. where all we see is each other, and the closest thing to date night is the worn pair of yoga pants that fit me just so and whose black has been washed now to a soft dark gray. i live in these pants at home, wearing them out a bit more as i run around the house between children or activities.
but, what makes those weekends even better is when they are balanced with the ever chaotic see-saw of life… the one that throws us out there some weekends, attending pageants, football games and visiting family and storing all the good we get from them to hold us over during hibernation.
and then we go on–see-sawing through the weekends that follow…sometimes in, sometimes out, sometimes with Jeremy, sometimes without, while he is away at the farm.
it’s literally sweeter now that it’s packed full of Halloween treats and the anticipation of one of our favorite holidays…

I made twenty of these chalkboard Jack O'Laterns for
Andrew's class party. These were so easy, just
find some spray chalkboard paint & baby pumpkins.
Wha-la!!

Our church hosted a carnival trunk-or-treat again this year.
I recycled the theme from last year to save money - plus it's
super adorable! I did add a few new things & chose a
different game. Pumpkin bowling was too much work!

Afterwards, Jeremy & I took the kids traditional
treat-or-treating. They ran into some shady characters!

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween

trunk-or-treat

Do you attend a trunk-or-treat where you live?? Have you ever heard of it?? I've always took my kids tradition
trick-or treating until this year. Our church hosted a carnival trunk-or-treat. Adrianna and Andrew loved helping me decorate our trunk just as much as the candy.

our car game was pumpkin bowling, it was a huge
hit but lots of work! We will definitely choose a different game next year and add more decorations. I didn't see many ideas on-line... if you did something cool, please share!

XOXO

Beware...

Mr. Wells wanted to be extra SCARY this year.
He didn't want to go treat or treating, he insisted on staying home and scaring little kids!

SO that is exactly what we did.
Jeremy went to the store and bought a ton of candy while we got ready. Adrianna was suppose to dress up with him but she had to cheer at a football game. We had our outside halloween lights on with scary halloween music playing on pandora. He even succeeded in scaring a
few kids which made him one happy little boy!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Halloween Party

the church had the best halloween party ever
games, haunted house, candy and friends.
i loved all of the creative costumes and andrew's giggles from seeing his friends all dressed up!

This boy has a gazillion friends, all with the same
amount of energy as him

These 3 are trouble!

my cute lil hulk - he loves this mohawk
if only he could talk his daddy into letting him have this hairstyle! wink wink

He HAD to have his picture taken with the creepy clown - he knows I am terrified of them!

♥  Mario Bros

Tonight we are carving pumpkins and watching scary
movies... I love HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween

We had a FUN FILLED day of Halloween.

It started with Andrew’s Halloween Party @ School.
He went as the yellow transformer a.k.a bumblebee.
Originally, the plan was he & his sister were dressing up as
“Rock Stars” this year but he spotted this costume in the
Halloween Store and had to have it.

How could I say "NO" to this face

He had to bring a snack to the party so Adrianna & I made these.... found the idea on  Pinterest
So cute and much healthier than candy

Jeremy & I took the kids  Rockers treat or treating around the neighborhood and I am not sure who LOVED it more

I am so used to Adrianna coming home with all her candy

and putting it on the counter and walking away.....Well

Andrew is a different story, he was very possessive with his

candy and wouldn't stop eating it and wanted MORE!

Pumpkins...and more

this weekend...

we carved pumpkins...
we played Mr. potato head with our pumpkins,
we made spider cupcakes
we made caramel apples
we went boo-ing...

we had a family halloween dinner,
we made a pumpkin cake...
and more!

life is good...

We indulged in sweets all weekend, in fact we have ate too much sugar.

We're all paying for it...
now, we are only eating nourishment that does not involve sugar.

B E W A R E...

Lots of Halloween and Fall posts will be coming so watch out!!

I love October!

Halloween parties, costumes, treats, fall leaves, fall biking, football, cooking with pumpkins, baking fun and ghoulish treats, etc, etc, etc, it literally is

my favorite time of year!!!!
Every year, I surprise my kids on October 1st, with the house decorated for Halloween and fun treats. I LOVE the excitement on their faces when they walk in from school to find all the decorations!

I finally got to plug in my pumpkin patch scents from Bath & Body... the house smells so yummy! ;)

Andrew loved this and was totally surprised!

I purchased the black spiderweb felt placemats and silver bangle napkin rings from Pier 1.  The skeleton head came from the dollar tree {love that store}  I can't wait to make a spooky Halloween dinner!

Happy October!
