Nautical Style Birthday Party

Adrianna celebrated her fifteenth birthday nautical style.

We had the party at Paint with Lane's 

Adrianna & her friends are creative, fun and talented.

They are all about style and trends so this was the perfect party. They were in their element & you will be surprised what you learn painting with a group of teens. I am 

up-to-date on all the latest gossip!

Adrianna is the perfect party planner, she did all the party decorations. I love how she spray painted the ends of the forks with glittery gold paint. They looked very elegant.

She even painted her canvas

 to match the party & asked me to take a

 picture before we started cutting cake!

She and I designed the cake, the gold wasn't exactly the color we wanted but it was delicious - red velvet and chocolate! 

I purchased the topper from Etsy

 

We found these chevron pink favor bags at my favorite store, Target. Adrianna HAD to add some gold details! We filled them with gum, mints wrapped in gold paper and lip gloss.

 I took these pictures a few weeks ago when my nephew spent the night. He thought I was crazy making him pose this way! I edited them in PicMonkey and added chocolate lips - they were PRESH! 

Valentine's Day is also the day I married Jeremy!

We celebrated our 14th Anniversary hanging out with the kids. He made a yummy dinner, we snuggled on the couch and watched a movie. It was a beautiful day!

the perfect day to create Valentine's Day crafts!

…and that we did.

I gathered all my left over valentine’s stickers, scrapbook paper, glue, scissors, glitter, etc. Positioned it out on the table and told the kids to craft to their heart’s content.

They had the most fun with the scratch art that I picked up from wal-mart - 3 pack for 97 cents!

 

I stepped away to get me a diet dr. pepper and when I returned, I found Andrew like this... he told me that he works better this way!

The kit includes ribbion so you can hang your artwork however we came up with a better idea. We're always recieving magnets from local businesses which tends to get shoved in my junk drawer. We grabbed them, added a few glue spots, and voila - beautiful valentine's magnets!

 

Canstruction Challenge

I participated in the canstruction challenge at work - it's 
such a fun and creative way to fight hunger.
Canstruction is building sculptures out of
canned goods.  Each team collects items
to build their sculpture. At the end of the event,
 all of the proceeds are donated to local food banks.
This is a fun challenge you can do at work,
school or church!

little over a week - AMAZING!

Adrianna rocked her cowgirl boots the last day

The kids have BIG plans for the summer.

Adrianna used the left over clothes pins & scrapbook paper from her Birthday Party Here to create a Summer Bucket List.  She & Andrew came up with 22 ideas!

Kool Eggz

We used kool-aid to dye our Easter eggs - we can't have the same boring eggs, i HAVE to change it up from year to year. This just gave it a new fruity twist.

 Add one package to 2/3 cup of water

 

we added rubber bands for KOOL stripes.

This was the perfect opportunity to create St.Patrick's Day crafts!

Andrew created beautiful Shamrock Art…

Using a green bell pepper {that I cut @ the bottom} & green paint

Adrianna made triangle banners using scrapbook paper, twine and modge podge

& filled the Cloche with foam Shamrocks

{that we purchased from the Dollar Tree} 

For snack - green milk & cool mint oreos!

Easter Crafts...

For the first time this week, I was able to come straight home from work. I didn’t have to take Adrianna to any practices, I didn’t have to run any errands for Jeremy & I didn’t have to go to my exercise class. My whole night was FREE {which doesn’t happen very often} so I decided it would be a fun, crafty night.

Andrew’s class is having their Easter party tomorrow so in lieu of candy we made everyone in his class an Easter Bunny. I found the kit @ Hancock Fabrics a few weeks ago for 70% off.

They turned out super cute… I love all the glitter! Andrew put together about 6 bunnies and then he was ready to get down and play. ;)

I had planned on dying eggs too but didn't have the time or energy... We'll save that for tomorrow night.

More Goodwill Finds

I was doing a little retail therapy on my lunch break last week. I started out at Pier 1. I wanted to see their adorable fall décor. I LOVE that store but I don’t love their prices. After wandering around about 10 minutes I decided to head to the Goodwill store to see if I could find any treasures. I scored BIG time…

I found a doomed cheese plate for $2.50 {seriously who donates this stuff} I already had this candle stick. I bought it about 3 months ago from Big Lots for $2. I had no idea what to do with it but it was so cheap I had to get it…

After a little cleaning, spray paint, and gorilla glue I have this beautiful Cloche and it only cost me $4.50! Now I just need to decide what to put inside it… Any suggestions?

Also, I bought an owl for .50
 {I am so mad at myself for not taking a before picture}
 I was too eager to start spray painting. Just imagine a nasty brown colored owl covered in dust - Urrr why didn’t I take a pic!

Owls are hot right now... I don't know why someone gave it away but I am glad they did!

It's amazing what a coat of white primer can do.
